Psychic TV History Chronicled in Thee Temple ov Psychick Youth Documentary

Thee Temple ov Psychick Youth (TOPY) was an “anti-cult” whose message was shared with the public by Genesis Breyer P-Orridge’s band Psychic TV throughout the 1980s. Jacqueline Castel’s new documentary A Message From the Temple chronicles TOPY’s rise, influence, and downfall. The film is being produced by Sacred Bones and Dais, and right now, it’s seeking funding via Kickstarter to cover travel, production costs, licensing, and more. Watch the trailer below.

Incentives include original artwork by P-Orridge, a copy of Thee Psychick Bible autographed by P-Orridge, autographed Psychic TV test pressings, a Skype conversation with P-Orridge, a Tibetan bullet necklace, a TOPY haircut from P-Orridge’s original clippers (conducted by the filmmakers), and producer credits. There’s also clothing, TOPY membership cards, stickers, patches, earrings, metal badges, LPs, tote bags, VHS tapes, and more.

The Kickstarter also offers the opportunity to pre-order tickets to a TOPY event hosted in a New York church. There will be screenings of rare archival films, plus a moderated discussion with Genesis Breyer P-Orridge, Tom Headbanger, Paul “Bee” Hampshire, Pieter Schoolwerth, and others. Find more details on the film’s website and Kickstarter page.

Psychic TV recently released their new album Alienist.
