Q-Tip Chats With D’Angelo, Rings Up André 3000 on Beats 1 Radio Show

Q-Tip has a show on Apple Music’s Beats 1 station called “Abstract Radio”. On his show over the weekend, Q-Tip got on the phone with D’Angelo for a chat in which they nerded out over Jimi Hendrix, James Brown, Sly Stone, and other music. At one point, they dialed up André 3000 and attempted to bring him into the conversation… except André was working in the studio, and didn’t have time to talk. You can listen to the full show above; the aborted attempt to chat with André happens at the 29-minute mark.

During the show, Q-Tip was also joined by Pete Rock and Large Professor, who played funk cuts by the J.B.s, James Brown, Kool & the Gang, and much more.
