Rainn Wilson (“The Office”) Gets $25,000 “Weezer Experience Bundle”: Watch

Weezer released their latest album, Weezer (“White Album”), in April. Upon announcing it in January, the band revealed a special deluxe bundle that fans could order along with the album. It was called “The Weezer Experience Bundle,” and promised a trip to the Galapagos Islands to go bird-watching and sightseeing with Rivers Cuomo. The bundle also included two tickets to see them on their summer tour, a signed copy of the album, and the right of being named “King of the World.” All it cost was a mere $25,000. It seemed extremely unlikely anybody would actually buy the package, considering Weezer specifically noted that the Galapagos would be reached by Greyhound, and anyone with a basic sense of physics knows you can’t drive to an island. As it turns out, however, one person may have purchased the Weezer Experience Bundle, as Stereogum points out. In a new Funny or Die video, Rainn Wilson (“The Office”) says he dropped the $25,000 and goes to meet up with Cuomo to board the Galapagos-bound bus. It’s not quite like he planned, though, and Wilson eventually considers that it may be a ruse during some “Office”-like confessional scenes. Ultimately, Wilson takes solace knowing that he and Cuomo both have “watery names.” Watch Rainn Wilson get the Weezer Experience below.
