Rdio Shutting Down Next Week

It was recently announced that Pandora had acquired Rdio. Now, Rdio have released a statement saying that the streaming service will shut down entirely on December 22. “We’re honored to have connected you with the music you love,” reads the statement.

The service’s “Farewell” feature offers users a timeline of their history on Rdio and offers ways to export their data like playlists, favorites, and comments.

Pandora purchased “key assets” of Rdio, clarifying that they won’t operate Rdio’s business, but plan to use the company’s “technology and talent to accelerate its own business strategy”.
