On his radio show for Reprezent 107.3 FM, Richard Russell (head of XL Recordings, home to M.I.A., Vampire Weekend, the xx, and more) debuted some new music. At one point, he performed two new songs with Sampha from an upcoming project Everything Is Recorded. During the show, Russell also discussed working with Kamasi Washington, Syd, Damon Albarn, Giggs, Warren Ellis, and more on his project. These artists join the list of contributors Russell was photographed working with last year, which includes Brian Eno, Peter Gabriel, Mark Ronson, and more. Elsewhere, Russell played an extended version of Gil Scott-Heron’s “Parents (Interlude)” from I’m New Here, which Russell produced. The excerpt appears at 1:29:20.
