"Saturday Night Live"’s Vanessa Bayer Gives "Sound Advice" to Jenny Lewis
“Saturday Night Live”‘s Vanessa Bayer stars in the Above Average web series “Sound Advice” as Janessa Slater, the world’s least-helpful publicist. In the past, she has “advised” artists such as Drake, Haim, TV on the Radio, Sleater-Kinney, St. Vincent, Interpol, and Chromeo. Her latest episode is a sit-down with Jenny Lewis.
“I’ve listened to several of your albums, and I’m wondering, why won’t you cheer up?” Bayer asks. Then, when she tells Lewis that she’s a fan of her “old group,” she clarifies that she’s talking about Troop Beverly Hills.
When Bayer asks why it took so long for Lewis to release a new solo album, she responds, “Well, you have heard that weed is practically legal in California, right?”
