She & Him Announce Covers Album, Classics, Share Dusty Springfield Cover “Stay Awhile”

She & Him, aka Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward, have announced their new album Classics, the follow-up to 2013′s Volume 3. The band’s first record for their new label, Columbia, is out December 2. On their website, they revealed a radio widget that, when tuned to the proper 1202 AM station, plays their cover of Dusty Springfield‘s “Stay Awhile”. 

A full tracklist has yet to be revealed, but the album features 13 covers of “timeless standards,” according to a press release. The previously shared trailer, below, includes an excerpt of their cover of 1964′s “Oh No Not My Baby”, the R&B song written by Gerry Goffin and Carole King. (Another trailer they shared this morning plays a snippet of the “Stay Awhile” cover.) 

Classics was recorded live and features a 20-piece orchestra arranged by Ward.
