Sigur Rós Enlist Dan Deacon, Owen Pallett, More for New Orchestral Arrangements

In April, Sigur Rós are scheduled to perform three shows with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, as part of their upcoming North American tour. Today, the band have announced that those concerts will feature new string arrangements by Dan Deacon, Owen Pallett, Anna MeredithNico Muhly, and more. The artists will collaborate with Sigur Rós to arrange both old and news songs. Other guest arrangers include Pulitzer Prize-winner David Lang, Missy Mazzoli, Páll Ragnar Pálsson, and Daniel Bjarnarson, who’s worked with the group in the past. Recently, Sigur Rós launched a casting call for fans in the L.A. area. They are seeking people to be filmed for a “short documentary.” Sigur Rós’ last record, Kveikur, came out in 2013.
