Sigur Rós’ Jónsi Sings “Funeral Pyre” From Alex Somers’ Captain Fantastic Score: Watch

Alex Somers—a frequent collaborator with Sigur Rós and Jónsi—is behind the score of Captain Fantastic. The soundtrack for the Viggo Mortensen-starring film is out July 8, and today, one of its songs has a new music video. “Funeral Pyre” features vocals from Jónsi and Sindri Már Sigfússon. The Ingibjörg Birgisdóttir-helmed visual for it is an animated vignette that looks similar to the soundtrack’s album cover. Somers said of the video: “I wanted these videos to be moments passing in time. Slowly unfolding and breathing with the music… To create a spark between the music and the picture.” Watch it below.
