Skrillex, Warpaint, and Thundercat Go Behind the Scenes of Their Bonnaroo "Pump Up the Jam" Cover

At last year’s Bonnaroo, Skrillex orchestrated an all-star late night “SuperJam” featuring Warpaint, Thundercat, Lauryn Hill, Janelle Monáe, A$AP Ferg, Mickey Hart of the Grateful Dead, Robby Krieger of the Doors, actor Craig Robinson, and more.

Today, Bonnaroo is presenting a documentary series about Skrillex’s SuperJam and how it came together. Watch the full series at uverse.com/bonnaroo.

One of the highlights of the SuperJam was a cover of Technotronic’s 1989 ultra-jam “Pump Up the Jam” featuring Warpaint and Thundercat. Watch a behind-the-scenes look at the rehearsal for the song, below. The video also includes footage of the actual Bonnaroo performance. “Leave it to Warpaint to make this song sound melancholy,” said Skrillex. 

The lineup for this year’s Bonnaroo was just announced last week. It features Billy Joel, Kendrick Lamar, Run the Jewels, Slayer, Spoon, Flying Lotus, Belle and Sebastian, the War on Drugs, My Morning Jacket, and many more.
