Slick Rick’s “Children’s Story” Turned Into Actual Children’s Book

Slick Rick’s 1988 classic “Children’s Story” is a tale of armed robbery, a police chase, a pregnant woman being held hostage, a “dope fiend” producing a shotgun, and ultimately, a kid getting shot down by police. Now, the song is being turned into an actual children’s book with illustrations and a puffy cover. The Great Adventures of Slick Rick… Children’s Book is coming on Record Store Day (April 22) via Get on Down and Def Jam. It’s packaged with a picture sleeve 45 with “Children’s Story” backed by “The Moment I Feared.” It also comes with a CD copy of the full 1988 album The Great Adventures of Slick Rick. Find more info here and check out some photos of the book below.
