Soundgarden Announce Echo of Miles: Scattered Tracks Across the Path Rarities Collection

Soundgarden have announced Echo of Miles: Scattered Tracks Across the Path, a rarities collection spread across three CDs that includes seven unreleased songs. Below, you can listen to one of those songs, “Storm”, which was recorded earlier this year. It’ll be released November 24 as a box set and a 14-track single CD.

Soundgarden guitarist Kim Thayil curated the collection, which includes B-sides, EPs, bonus tracks, live recordings, and songs recorded for soundtracks and compilations. The first disc compiles songs written by the band, such as “Storm” and the unreleased “Kristi”, an outtake from the sessions for 1996′s Down on the Upside

The second disc compiles covers of artists such as the Beatles, Spinal Tap, the Stooges, and more. It includes two unreleased covers of the Beatles “Everybody’s Got Something to Hide…” and Sly Stone’s “Thank You…”, which were both recorded for a John Peel BBC Radio 1 show in 1989.

The third disc collects instrumentals, remixes, and demos. Its unreleased tracks are “Twin Tower”, which was written by drummer Matt Cameron and recorded during the sessions for 1988′s Louder Than Love, “Night Surf”, an instrumental performed by bassist Ben Shepard that opened the band’s 1994 tour, and Steve Fisk’s remix of “The Telephantasm”.
