Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell Dead: Tom Morello, Courtney Love, Timbaland, More React

Musicians continue to pay tribute to Chris Cornell, the iconic frontman of Soundgarden, Audioslave, and Temple of the Dog, who died on May 17 at the age of 52. He had performed with Soundgarden in Detroit shortly before his death, which was been determined to be a suicide. Among those who have paid their respects to Cornell is his Audioslave bandmate Tom Morello. “I love you, brother. Thank you for your friendship and your humor and your intellect and your singular and unmatched talent,” he writes. “It was a great honor to know you as a friend and as a band mate.” Other artists who have shared their thoughts include Timbaland (the producer of Cornell’s 2009 record Speak), Carrie Brownstein, Courtney Love, Paramore’s Hayley Williams, Questlove, Q-Tip, Big Boi, and Sean Ono Lennon.
