Spoon’s Britt Daniel, Arcade Fire’s Will Butler, Superchunk’s Mac McCaughan Discuss Songwriting, Perform at SXSW

During SXSW earlier this year, Spoon’s Britt Daniel, Arcade Fire’s Will Butler, Superchunk’s Mac McCaughan, Nada Surf’s Matthew Caws, and Marshall Crenshaw got together for the “I Wrote That Song” panel, where they talked about their approach to songwriting. It was moderated by Karen Glauber of Hits magazine. Each of the panelists performed during the panel. Daniel does “Rainy Taxi”, Butler performs “Take My Side” and a new, untitled song, McCaughan does “Lost Again”, Caws performs “Friend Hospital” and “See These Bones”, and Crenshaw performs “Grab the Next Train” and “Cynical Girl”. Big Star’s Jody Stephens, who happens to be in the audience, comes up to do “Thirteen” and “For You”.
