BBC Radio 6 have invited who they’ve dubbed “The Three Wise Women” to curate several hours of their Christmas programmingSt. Vincent, Neneh Cherry, and Alison Goldfrapp. They’ll helm the festivities for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day.

In addition to talking about her family’s Christmas traditions, Annie Clark has promised to play music from Nine Inch Nails, John Coltrane, Cate Le Bon, Peggy Lee, and many others. She’ll share her favorite song of 2014, and her “album of the day” pick will be by J Dilla. From their archives, she’ll play specials called “The First Time with David Byrne” and Iggy Pop’s “Preachers and Seers” themed show. She’ll also air archival documentaries on Kate Bush’s The Hounds of Love and Nirvana’s Nevermind. She’ll also play Fela Kuti’s Glastonbury set and archival BBC sessions with Stereolab, Nick Cave, and PJ Harvey.

On Christmas Day, Neneh Cherry will play the “First Time with Quentin Tarantino” special and Iggy Pop’s “Desire” themed show. She also selected the archival documentaries “Looking For the Perfect Beat” (about the origins of hip-hop) and “Way Out West: The Bristol Underground Story”.

On Boxing Day, Goldfrapp will play David Lynch’s “First Time” special and Iggy Pop’s “Car Songs” show. She selected documentaries on Serge Gainsbourg and Ennio Morricone, plus a rare Kate Bush interview from 2005. She’ll also play live performances from Air, Leonard Cohen, Stereolab, and Radiohead. She’ll also play Iggy Pop’s recent John Peel lecture.
