Stones Throw Records to Reissue Egyptian Lover's Early Catalog

Pioneering rap and hip-hop artist Egyptian Lover played an enormous part in bringing electro rap to the forefront in the early 1980s, paving the way for subsequent West Coast acts like N.W.A. Stones Throw Records has announced the Egyptian Lover 1983 to 1988 anthology, a reissue of Egyptian Lover’s early catalog that also includes previously unreleased recordings. The anthology will be released on CD and digital outlets and also in a deluxe vinyl box set that will include four LPs, a 20-page book with archival photos, liner notes from Pitchfork contributor Jeff Weiss, and a “detailed track history” by Egyptian Lover. Egyptian Lover 1983 to 1988 is out April 15.
