Take a Video Tour of Jack White’s Third Man Pressing Plant

Last month, Jack White announced the opening of Third Man Pressing, a new vinyl pressing plant located in Detroit. The environmentally conscious, state-of-the-art facility features “eight of the first newly built presses built in 35 years,”and is capable of crafting 5,000 records every 8 hours. Now, Third Man Records have shared a new video, giving viewers a tour of the plant and the vinyl record pressing process. Check it out below. In addition to pressing records for Third Man Records, the plant will also service “customers off the street, whether it’s punk bands doing their first release, mid-level indie labels looking to get increased capacity due to back-logged vinyl turnaround times; Third Man Pressing really wants to be the plant for everybody.”

Third Man Pressing officially opens for business tomorrow, with opening festivities taking place at Third Man Records, featuring limited edition merchandise, performances, and more.
