Tame Impala Offshoot Pond Share Trippy Animated Video for New Track "Sitting Up on Our Crane"

Pond, the Australian psych band featuring members of Tame Impala, will release their new album Man It Feels Like Space Again on January 27 in the U.S., January 26 in the UK, and January 23 in Australia. Today, they’ve shared a trippy animated video for a new track called “Sitting Up on Our Crane”. For a limited time, the track is available as a free download here.

Directed by Alejandro Miguel Justino Crawford, it shows an animated figure (who seems to be comprised of television static) falling into a psychedelic void.

According to a press release, the song was inspired by actual, real-life trips to unmanned construction sites, where the youthful Pond would climb cranes. “We’d sit at the top and I’d always be afraid that we were gonna fall off, kill ourselves,” Jay Watson said. “That’s what that song’s about. Kind of an anxiety power ballad.”
