The Avalanches Postpone Festival Shows Due to Health Concerns

After a 16-year hiatus, the Avalanches finally returned this summer with Wildflower, their follow-up to 2000’s Since I Left You, and they planned to play festival shows in support of the long-awaited album (they played a set earlier this year at Primavera Sound). But some fans will have to wait a little longer to see the group perform their new songs live because today they announced they’d be postponing some shows for health reasons. “Preparations for our live show at Splendour are going well but unfortunately due to a medical condition requiring treatment in Australia, Tony has been advised against international travel for the next few months,” the group wrote in a Facebook post. “So with great disappointment we have had to postpone some forthcoming festival appearances in Europe.” The group didn’t specify which shows would be postponed.
