The Flaming Lips Cover David Bowie's "Space Oddity" on "Colbert": Watch

Last night, the Flaming Lips were the musical guests on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.” The band paid tribute to David Bowie with their cover of “Space Oddity,” with Wayne Coyne climbing onto Chewbacca’s shoulders near the end—as he did at the recent Bowie tribute concert at Carnegie Hall. (The performance follows Michael Stipe’s recent “Tonight Show” performance of “The Man Who Sold the World” and EL VY doing “Let’s Dance” on “Colbert.”) In a pre-show video, Coyne sang a goofy song about his favorite bands and musical influences. Watch the performance and Coyne’s song below.
