The Go-Betweens Announce G Stands for Go-Betweens Volume One Box Set

Australian indie-pop pioneers the Go-Betweens have announced G Stands For Go-Betweens Volume One, a box set that covers the band’s 1978-1984 output. It’s out January 19 internationally and January 20 in the U.S. via Domino. You can see the whole tracklist here.

The box set contains vinyl re-pressings of their first three albums—1982′s Send Me a Lullaby, 1983′s Before Hollywood, and 1984′s Spring Hill Fair—along with a collection of early singles titled The First Five Singles. It also includes four CDs containing unreleased demos, recordings, radio sessions, and a live radio broadcast from 1982.

Additionally, a 112-page book includes liner notes by the band’s Robert Forster along with archival photos and contributed essays from critics, fans, and the band’s contemporaries. The set also includes a silkscreen of a poster for the Go-Betweens’ first single, “Lee Remick”, and a reproduction of their first press release.

The first 600 people who pre-order will also receive a book from the late Grant McLennan’s personal collection, along with a bookmark signed by Forster. McLennan passed away in 2006.
