The Mountain Goats‘ John Darnielle and Rolling Stone editor Christopher R. Weingarten have announced #tcot, a collaborative cassette release they’re dropping on Cassette Store Day (which takes place this Saturday, October 17). Below, you can check out the attached single art; above, you can listen to a snippet of music. It was produced by the Men’s Ben Greenberg. The tape will be released through Northern Spy.
#tcot, if you didn’t know, is a hashtag used by conservatives that stands for “top conservatives on Twitter”—a pointed wink from the notedly progressive Darnielle.
Apart from his own career as a writer, Weingarten previously played drums in Parts & Labor.
When replying to @1000TimesYes , @mountain_goats or @northernspyrecs — or just offering excitement and enthusiasm — please hashtag #tcot !!
