The Mountain Goats appeared on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” last night, where they performed a song from their just-released wrestling-centric LP Beat the Champ. John Darnielle and the band did the ultra-violent “Foreign Object”, and as a web exclusive, they did their We Shall All Be Healed closer “Pigs That Ran Straightaway Into the Water, Triumph Of”.

The episode also featured another deeply entertaining interview with Beastie Boys‘ Ad-Rock, who was there to promote Noah Baumbach‘s While We’re Young. He walked out wearing a “Late Night” T-shirt, carrying a “Late Night” tote, and holding a “Late Night” mug, which was full of wine that he stole from “Game of Thrones” star Kit Harington.

Adam Horovitz also talked about the Beastie Boys concert film Awesome, I Fuckin’ Shot That! and the time the Beastie Boys performed while his grandma sat in a La-Z-Boy recliner on stage. He also refuted Vin Diesel’s recent claim that he was a breakdancer for the Beastie Boys (but then said that you should definitely “get high or drunk” and watch XXX). In a discussion about his While We’re Young co-star Ben Stiller, he said, “I fucking love Zoolander.”
