The National Share Mysterious Video Teasing New Music: Watch
The National have shared a mysterious video that seems to hint that new music is on the way. Watch the clip below, which features grainy footage and the phrases “Sleep Well Beast” and “The System Only Dreams in Total Darkness.” The group’s last album, Trouble Will Find Me, was released in 2013. Earlier this year, they debuted the new song “Turtleneck” at a Planned Parenthood benefit concert in Washington, D.C. Last fall, vocalist Matt Berninger discussed the band’s upcoming album in a new interview. “It’s about marriage, and it’s about marriages falling apart,” he explained. The National are among the performers at this year’s Pitchfork Music Festival Paris, which takes place November 2-4 at La Grande Halle de La Villette. The band curated one day of the festival.
