Leonard “Hub” Hubbard was the Roots‘ bassist from 1992 until 2007. He left the band after he was diagnosed with blood cancer. He’s now suing the band’s Questlove and Black Thought, as well as their current manager, as TMZ reports.

In the lawsuit, Hubbard says he is owed money from a deal that made him a co-owner of the band.

The Roots joined “The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon” as the house band in 2009, two years after Hubbard left.
