The Weeknd Cancels Meadows Fest Headlining Set, Replaced by J. Cole

In June, the organizers behind Governors Ball announced a new NYC festival called the Meadows. The festival will take place on October 1 and 2 at Citi Field in Queens. Today, the festival announced that the Weekend had to drop out “due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts.” He has been replaced by  J. Cole as the Saturday headliner. Kanye West, Chance the Rapper, Kygo, Grimes, and more are set to perform at the Meadows. Find the full lineup here.

Earlier today, the Weeknd released the Daft Punk-featuring title track of his upcoming record StarboyJ. Cole’s most recent album was 2014 Forest Hills Drive.

Update (September 22, 6:50 pm EST): The Weeknd has rejoined Meadows. The cancellation was made due to a scheduling error with “Saturday Night Live.”
