In celebration of their 40th anniversary, the English experimental rock outfit This Heat will reissue their catalog on January 22 via Light in the Attic. Their three albums—1979′s This Heat, 1980′s Health and Efficiency, and 1981′s Deceit—are receiving the vinyl reissue treatment. Listen to “24 Track Loop” and “Sleep” below.

The reissues are coming with the cooperation of the band’s Charles Bullen and Charles Hayward. They’ve all been remastered and pressed on 180-gram vinyl. Each reissue comes with a booklet with liner notes and archival photos. Find some packaging shots below.

The press release announcing the reissues came with quotes from Hot Chip’s Alexis Taylor and Caribou’s Dan Snaith.

Taylor:

This Heat made a beautiful/ ferocious noise like no other band before or since – and their records still sound entirely modern today. They were truly committed to experimentation in the studio, and making a highly-charged music of great originality and dynamics.

Snaith:

The first time I heard This Heat was their track ‘Sleep’ in the early 2000s, and it sounded so fresh then, more than 20 years on from its release, that I thought it was a newly released record. I couldn’t believe one band had an imagination this broad and this incandescent… This Heat sounded like the future then and still do now.
