Timbaland Announces New Musical and Final Album, Opera Noir
Timbaland has announced a new “scripted hip-hop musical,” Opera Noir. It will be based on his upcoming final album of the same name. He will executive produce the musical, alongside Leftfield Pictures. According to a press release, Opera Noir “will follow a young musician’s rise to the top and hardships along the way–including struggles with poverty, substance abuse and crime.” Timbaland added that he has had a “vision for this project” for years.
Timbaland currently serves as the music supervisor for Fox’s TV series “Empire.” Late last year, he released the mixtape King Stays King, as well as his memoir The Emperor of Sound.
