Todd Rundgren Enlists Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross for New Song “Deaf Ears”: Listen

Todd Rundgren will release his new album White Knight May 12 via Cleopatra. It features contributions from a variety of guest stars, including Robyn (on the previously released“That Could Have Been Me”), Daryl Hall, Dâm-Funk, Donald Fagen, Joe Walsh, and more. Rundgren has now shared a new video for “Deaf Ears,” a song from the album featuring Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. Watch Rundgren’s self-directed video below, via NPR.

“It’s a depressing time, so sometimes depressing times call for confrontational material,” Rundgren told NPR of the song. “The principal theme for me of ‘Deaf Ears’ is, of course, the destruction we’re doing to our own habitat.” He also adds that working with Reznor was “terrific” and that Reznor had sent him “essentially an entire album’s worth of ideas.” Read the full interview here.
