Trent Reznor Discusses Gone Girl on "CBS This Morning: Saturday"

David Fincher’s adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s best-selling novel Gone Girl is out this weekend. It features a score by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. Yesterday, Reznor stopped by “CBS This Morning: Saturday” to discuss the process of scoring the film. Watch the interview below.

Primarily, he discussed how his process of working on films differs from writing music for Nine Inch Nails

“My job is to be in service to the picture. If I’m writing for Nine Inch Nails, my end result is trying to get this idea I have in my head into your ears and try and make that connection. In film, we adopted this strategy of really trying to get inside David’s head. He has a very clear idea of what he’s looking for, the role of music in film.”

He also made note that his songs “aren’t that catchy”.
