Unreleased Prince Music Plays at Versace Milan Fashion Show: Watch

Prince was close friends with Donatella Versace. During Versace Men’s SS17 show at Milan Fashion Week, Versace paid homage to her late friend by playing an unreleased song that was reportedly “written and recorded as a personal gift,” Dazed reports. In an interview with Billboard, Versace revealed that Prince “had been sending me songs for years–it was his way of communicating.” Her archive of unreleased Prince songs included tracks he sent her as recently as five months ago. She added:

It was a privilege and an honor to have Prince as my friend, and so it was my privilege to be able to share them with the audience. I wanted people to hear how playful he was, how joyous, how creative, how pure a genius. The biggest tribute you can pay to him is to play his music, and to keep his memory alive.
