Usher and Nas Confront Police Brutality With Interactive "Chains" Video

Usher has teamed up with Nas and German artist Bibi Bourelly (co-writer of Rihanna’s “Bitch Better Have My Money”) on a new song called “Chains”. It’s been debuted through an interactive Tidal feature that uses the viewer’s web cam and facial recognition technology.

The video consists of photos and descriptions of victims of police brutality and racially-charged murders, like Trayvon Martin and Rekia Boyd. If you “look away,” or go to another tab in your browser, the song stops playing. Check it out here or below.

Usher will perform “Chains” at Tidal X: 10/20, a concert that will be staged at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on October 20. The show will also feature performances from Beyoncé, Jay Z, Prince, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, T.I., Alessia Cara, Damian Marley, Fabolous, Flatbush Zombies, Pusha T, and more.

Proceeds from “Chains” will be donated to a Donor Advised Fund managed by Sankofa.org, a social justice organization.
