Viet Cong Share Retro Sci-Fi "Silhouttes" Video

This week, Calgary band Viet Cong (featuring ex-members of Women) released their self-titled debut LP. Today, they’ve shared a clip for their most recent single “Silhouettes”. Directed by Brook Linder, it’s a clip full of retro sci-fi imagery. Watch it below via The New York Times.

Matt Flegel discussed the song’s origins with the Times: “We were playing a show in a venue with really sketchy power, and I was electrocuted badly. I was bleeding out of my ears and couldn’t hear properly for a few days. I was feeling anxious about it, and you can kind of feel that anxiety in the song.” He said the video was inspired by Alien, Predator, Blade Runner, and 2001.
