Watch Angel Olsen and the Raincoats Cover Patti Smith’s “Because the Night”

Last night, Angel Olsen and the Raincoats played a show at the Islington Assembly Hall for a concert series organized in honor of Rough Trade’s 40th anniversary. During the course of the show, the artists teamed up to play a setlist that featured songs from both their discographies, and covers of Patti Smith and the Kinks. Below, find footage from the show, which includes the group covering Smith’s “Because the Night,” a rendition of Burn Your Fire for No Witness’ “High and Wild,” and more. Olsen posted the setlist on her Instagram; find that below as well.

Angel Olsen’s most recent album was 2016’s My Woman. Earlier this year, Patti Smith released a new record with her daughter Jesse Paris Smith and the Soundwalk Collective called Killer Road.
