Watch Carrie Brownstein and Fred Armisen Mock Men’s Rights Movement in “Portlandia” Trailer

On January 5, 2017, Carrie Brownstein and Fred Armisen’s IFC show “Portlandia” returns for its seventh season. Today, they’ve shared a teaser for the new season, which finds their characters bemoaning the lack of men’s rights activism. They then sing an new anthem asking, “What About Men?!” Watch the satirical clip below (via Entertainment Weekly).

Notably, the clip begins with the characters biking past the show’s feminist bookstore Women and Women First. Recently, Portland’s actual nonprofit feminist bookstore–In Other Words, where those segments are shot–called out the show. The owners of In Other Words criticized “Portlandia” as “trans-antagonistic and trans-misogynist,” and said that the show contributes to the city’s gentrification. They also declared, “Fuck ‘Portlandia’” with a sign in their window.
