Watch David Byrne Lead a Massive Whitney Houston “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” Singalong

David Byrne hosted a variety show at New York City’s Town Hall last night to celebrate the release of a new edition of his 2012 book How Music Works. During the event, Byrne led a massive singalong of Whitney Houston’s classic “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me),” as Stereogum points out. Watch clips of the performance below. Byrne has previously covered the song in concert, and he included on his 2007 album Live in Austin, TX. He’s currently at work on new music, which might feature collaborations with Brian Eno and Oneohtrix Point Never.
