Watch Jack White Joke About Kellyanne Conway, Quote Michael Jackson in Grammy Honors Speech

It’s Grammy Week, and as part of the festivities leading up to the big show on Sunday night, the Recording Academy’s Producers & Engineers Wing threw a celebration tonight for Jack White. Accepting the honor, White cracked a joke about Trump counselor Kellyanne Conway writing his speech, before recapping his years developing as a producer. In reflecting on his process, he quoted Michael Jackson—“You’re an antenna, and it’s all about letting God in the room”—as well as tipping his hat to the Stooges’ Funhouse producer Don Galluci. He also praised Bing Crosby, who “took money out of his own wallet and contributed to the production of making analog tape machines, to progress this entire industry forward.” White continued: “That’s about building bridges and carrying on for the next generation—and I think we should build bridges, instead of walls, especially right now!” Watch video below, via Yahoo.

As the 2017 P&E honoree, White follows in the footsteps of Rick Rubin, T Bone Burnett, Ahmet Ertegun, Nile Rodgers, Neil Young, Quincy Jones, Jimmy Iovine, Jerry Wexler, Tom Dowd, and others. Jack is also up for two Grammys this year: Best Rock Performance (for his Beyoncé collaboration “Don’t Hurt Yourself”) and Best American Roots Song (for “City Lights”).
