Watch Jon Hopkins Cover the “Twin Peaks” Theme
On the eve of the show’s decades-coming return, Jon Hopkins has performed a piano cover of Angelo Badalamenti’s “Twin Peaks” theme. Watch it below. (Hopkins and the show’s creator, David Lynch, have some history, owing to their shared interest in transcendental meditation.) As well as sharing the video, Hopkins offered an update on his follow-up to 2013’s excellent Immunity: “Thanks for being patient while I work on my next record,” he wrote. “I’m trying to really push it with this one, and it’s finally starting to take shape.”
A recent trailer for “Twin Peaks” showed viewers some of the returning characters (Kyle MacLachlan, the late Miguel Ferrer, Kimmy Robertson, more), as well as fresh faces now inhabiting the fictional town of Twin Peaks. The new season is also set to feature music from Windswept, Chromatics’ Johnny Jewel’s new studio album.
