Watch Jonathan Rhys Meyers Play the Clash’s Joe Strummer in Trailer for New Film London Town

Jonathan Rhys Meyers (Mission: Impossible III, Match Point, Bend It Like Beckham) will portray the Clash’s Joe Strummer in an upcoming film called London Town, according to Rolling Stone. Directed by Derrick Borte, the film is set in London in 1979, and follows Shay (played by Daniel Huttlestone), a teenage punk who crosses paths with Joe Strummer. You can watch a trailer for the film below. Rhys Meyers previously portrayed a character based on David Bowie and Marc Bolan in the 1998 film Velvet Goldmine.
