Watch Laurie Anderson Perform Lou Reed’s The Raven

Watch Laurie Anderson Perform Lou Reed’s The Raven

Earlier this month, it was announced that Lou Reed’s personal archives—which include over 600 hours of audio/video recordings and numerous pieces of writing—were heading to the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts. Tonight, to celebrate the archives’ release, several artists came together to perform Reed’s 2003 work The Raven at the Library of Performing Arts at Lincoln Center. Some of his other poems were recited for the first time. Laurie Anderson was joined by Hal Willner, filmmaker Julian Schnabel (who directed Lou Reed’s Berlin concert film), Kembra Pfahler, and an ensemble of other readers and musicians. Watch the entire thing below.
