Last month, the National announced they’d be a part of a Get Out the Vote concert series in support of Hillary Clinton called “Love Trumps Hate.” The series includes performances from Katy Perry, Jennifer Lopez, and more. Tonight, the National performed at the “Love Trumps Hate” concert in their hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio. Watch footage from the event below. They played “Mr. November” and “I Need My Girl,” among other songs.
Recently, the National’s Matt Berninger discussed campaigning for Hillary Clinton (and Barack Obama in 2012) on Tavis Smiley’s PBS show. He also called his anti-Donald Trump song with EL VY, “Are These My Jets,” “mostly a cathartic thing.” Last week, Berninger said he was “a little bit in love with Hillary Clinton.”
