Watch the Weeknd and Daft Punk’s New “Starboy” Video

The Weeknd has released the video for his Daft Punk-featuring single “Starboy,” the title track to his upcoming album (out November 25 via XO/Republic). It was directed by frequent Weeknd collaborator Grant Singer. In the video, the Weeknd’s old persona (signified by his signature former haircut) is taking hostage and suffocated by his new one, who then goes on a rampage destroying his former self. He uses a neon cross to shatter trophies and plaques and old photos, and a black cat morphs into a panther. Daft Punk appear as a portrait on a wall. Watch the video below.

Yesterday, it was announced that the “Starboy” video had received a nomination for Best Video at the MTV EMAs before its actual release.
