Waxahatchee and Kevin Morby Cover Everclear: Listen

Waxahatchee (Katie Crutchfield) has covered everyone from Elliot Smith to Jessica Simpson, and to conclude her tour with singer-songwriter Kevin Morby on Sunday, she reached back into the past for another throwback. The two closed their Baltimore show with an acoustic version of Everclear’s “Santa Monica,” off the band’s 1995 LP Sparkle and Fade (via Stereogum). Morby played guitar and traded verses with Crutchfield on the cover. Watch it below. Although the pair parted ways last night, Waxahatachee remains on tour through September while Morby will be heading back out on the road in May. He’s also preparing to release his new album, City Music, in June.
