Waxahatchee, Jesu/Sun Kil Moon, J. Mascis, Amanda Palmer, More Announced for Elliott Smith Tribute Album

Waxahatchee, Jesu/Sun Kil Moon, J. Mascis, Lou Barlow, Yuck, and more artists are set to cover Elliott Smith on a new tribute compilation due out this fall. Say Yes! A Tribute to Elliott Smith features 14 previously-unheard covers, and will arrive October 14 via American Laundromat. Julien Baker, Amanda Palmer, Tanya Donelly (Belly/the Breeders), and Adam Franklin (Swervedriver) will also participate. The compilation includes Juliana Hatfield’s cover of “Needle in the Hay,” which previously appeared on 2014′s compilation I Saved Latin! February saw the release of the soundtrack for Heaven Adores YouNickolas Rossi’s Smith documentary film, which featured several rare and previously unreleased Smith tracks.
