Mike Myers and Dana Carvey’s cult classic Wayne’s World turns 25 this year. To celebrate the anniversary, the film is returning to theaters. Wayne’s World will show nationwide on February 7 and 8 (hosted by SpectiCast and Paramount Pictures). The events will include an introduction by film critic Peter Travers; afterward, a pre-recorded discussion with director Penelope Spheeris and cast members will screen. In addition to the screenings, Paramount Home Media Distribution is putting out a Wayne’s World double feature on DVD and Digital HD. It’s out February 14 (the 25th anniversary). New digital extras (including director’s commentary and a making-of feature) will be available with the iTunes edition of the movie.
Wayne’s World began as a “Saturday Night Live” sketch. In 2015, Myers and Carvey revived their characters for the “SNL 40” special.
