William Tyler Announces New Album Modern Country

Guitarist and composer William Tyler has announced the follow-up to 2014′s Lost ColonyModern Country is out June 3 via Merge. The album was tracked at Justin Vernon’s April Base Studios in Eau Claire, Wisc. with Glenn Kotche (Wilco), Phil Cook (Hiss Golden Messenger), and Darin Gray (Tweedy, Jim O’Rourke). “Modern Country is a love letter to what we’re losing in America, to what we’ve already lost,” said Tyler in a statement. “We stand at the precipice of the twilight of empire, the decline of so many national institutions and the vanishing of certainties.” Tyler is currently on tour with the Mountain Goats.
