Wolf Parade Tease New Release: Listen

This month, Wolf Parade will return from a lengthy hiatus. In an interview with Exclaim, Krug and Dan Boeckner said that their live set will feature as many as six new songs, with four planned for an EP. That release has now surfaced on Amazon, as Stereogum points out. The four-track effort, which is listed as EP 4, is scheduled to arrive May 17 via the band’s Wolf Parade Productions—the same day they take the stage at New York City’s Bowery Ballroom to play their first shows in five years. View the artwork and tracklisting below, and preview the new material on Amazon. Wolf Parade’s new EP arrives on the heels of their deluxe reissue of 2005′s debut album Apologies to the Queen Mary, which is out May 13.

Boeckner briefly described the band’s new music in an interview with Exclaim earlier this year. “There’s a heavy glam vibe on the new stuff, which I’m really diggin’,” he remarked, adding that one track in particular “kinda reminded me of early Queen and The Rocky Horror Picture Show soundtrack.” In the same interview, he claimed that the band have prepared a track tentatively titled “Boy Division,” which “sounds like an amateur Joy Division.”

EP 4:

01 Automatic
02 Mr. Startup
03 C’est La Vie Way
04 Floating World
