Xiu Xiu‘s last two studio albums were released in the span of a few months in early 2014, Angel Guts: Red Classroom and Unclouded Sky. Now the band is prepping a new project, Plays the Music of Twin Peaks, spotlighting Angelo Badalamenti’s compositions from David Lynch’s show. It will be released exclusively on Record Store Day via Polyvinyl in America and Bella Union in Europe. The album was produced by former Xiu Xiu member Jherek Bischoff and mixed by Deerhoof’s Greg Saunier. The first offering is “Falling,” the band’s interpretation of the show’s theme.
