Years & Years Come Back from the Dead in "Foundation" Video
Years & Years have shared the video for “Foundation” from the London trio’s debut album Communion, out July 10 on Interscope in the U.S. and Polydor in the UK. Directed by Fred Rowson, the video features singer Olly Alexander coming back from the dead at his own wake. (Last year, Alexander starred in Stuart Murdoch’s film God Help the Girl.) Alexander said of the video, “we wanted to revisit some earlier themes and imagery from our videos. We expanded on the eerie and hypnotic feel of the song and played with the drama of ritualistic practice, audience and voyeurism. Our director, Fred Rowson, was really good at seeing into our minds and bringing our ideas to life.”
