Young Thug and Birdman Accused of Conspiring to Kill Lil Wayne
This April, shots were fired at Lil Wayne‘s tour bus in Atlanta. Although Young Money executives and artists were present, nobody was injured. Now, Channel 2 Action News has unearthed an indictment that names Young Thug, aka Jeffery Williams, and Cash Money label boss Birdman, aka Bryan Williams, as conspirators behind the attack. Young Thug’s tour manager, Jimmy Winfrey, aka Peewee Roscoe, has been charged with the shooting itself.

Lil Wayne has a long-running dispute with Cash Money Records, of which his Young Money imprint is a subsidiary. In January, Wayne sued Birdman and Cash Money for $51 million and freedom from the label. Wayne and his lawyers claimed Cash Money violated his contract by withholding money he’s owed for the delayed album Tha Carter V. According to the indictment, which cites Young Thug’s Barter 6 album title, as well as his “Halftime” music video, Young Thug sided with Birdman in the dispute.
Young Thug and Birdman have not been charged in the incident.
Yesterday, Young Thug was arrested in Sandy Springs, Georgia, for allegedly threatening to kill a mall cop. As of yesterday morning, he was being held at the DeKalb County jail.
